Katy Rodgers-Anchondo, LPC

Whether it’s stress and anxiety preventing you from living life to the fullest, difficulties managing challenging behaviors from your children, or wanting to feel understood and learn healthy ways to express and cope with big, hard emotions, she can help you get there. Through Katy’s warmth and nonjudgmental compassion, she guides you down that tricky path to uncover hidden truths about yourself that will lead to an authentically lived life. Katy works with children, teens, and adults. Anxiety, executive functioning, helping your child regulate emotions, depression, and parent coaching are where Katy shines. Her empathy and energy are so helpful when you are wanting help with yourself and/or your child. Her experience in educating families on best practices on social and emotional well being makes her a great fit for parent coaching. She WANTS your relationship with your child to be full, and secure.
Katy received her graduate degree in Counseling, as well as a dual bachelors in Education and Human Development and Family Studies from the University of Houston (Go Coogs!). She’s served in the field of education for 10 years as a teacher and school counselor and because of these experiences she exhibits an instinctive quality when working with children.
She employs directive and non-directive play therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), social skills, and psycho-education when working with children. Due to her unique perspective with families, she loves working with the adult end of the spectrum as well and caters her approaches to the need of each client. She values and respects parents and uses their adaptability to help children.
